The cost of running a server for a few thousand players at most is just not cost effective.
There should only be 1 server until a time where it is a must to have another. If you have ever played Darkfall you would know, as soon as they released the NA server it made both the NA and EU server very player light and the game still hasn't recovered. I'm hoping it will recover and become a very populated game, as I really want to see FFA PVP and full loot games taking over the market. If it is about the language barrier then I suggest creating a russian community on the current server, as it cannot be the ping as even the US get a good enough ping and have no problems playing on the current server. The Darkfall community had a strong influence in the split of the Darkfall servers, I pray that this does not happen here, and that SV stick to just one server until a time where it is so over populated they just have to create a new server, and I am talking about when the other 4 continents are released as well. just my 2 cents |

Actually, to not disrupt other people's immersion there's some EULA that the only allowed ingame language is english (at least in public places - nobody cares if you are just with your non-english buddies), so the game will demand you to know enough english to get around in the world. It also has been announced somewhere that the game will be in english only for at least quite a long time.
Also, regarding localization of the game: I have done localization for large software myself and can tell that such is quite costly and for sure nothing that SV currently has funds for, especially since the economical benefit is doubtful at this point of game development. In addition I am curious if they already planned about localization of the game, since it must be designed into the software else they'd need loads of program changes to allow a translation. So in short: No other client languages for now. This in my view is fine anyways, since we only have one world/server with one playerbase. To allow them to communicate about ingame items you better not have these translated in 100 versions, this already failed in other games and disturbed e.g. trading items between different client languages.
