The only criticism I can think of right now is that the monster's face looks too out of place, compared to the hair. I know you mentioned it, but the face looks like it was just planted on top of the long hair, rather than being in the midst of it.
Maybe you could add some small hairs dangling from his forehead and around his ears... otherwise he will look too clean-cut
