The Feccna
-Brief Description
The Feccna is a fox variety much like our own Fennec Foxes. However, the Feccna are built much tougher than the Fennec and are larger. They are social creatures living in a group (skulk) of 10-20 individuals. They are also very protective of their territory and will attack most things on sight to keep them away from the den. When outside of their territory they will usually be defensive, meaning they will not seek agressions and will only fight if pursued or backed into a corner.
-Anatomy
The Feccna fox is approximately 24 inches (61 Cm) in length with another 10 inches (25.4 cm) for their bushy tail. They will weigh about 20 pounds (9 kg) as an adult. Their long and bushy tail helps the Feccna change directions quickly and also helps to keep them warm at night. This fox has huge ears and large eyes; the ears help them lose excess heat and to provide excellent hearing for hunting and signs of danger. The Feccna also has large sharp claws for improved running and tearing of flesh. Located on the nose of the fox is a large bone for defensive and offenseive purposes; On an upward swipe the nose bone spike can tear deeply into it's target. The Feccna sports sharp teeth for biting and tearing of it's food. On the back of the fox is an armord spine making blunt attacks at this area ineffective. The soles of the Feccna are covered with a protective hair to protect them from the burning desert sands.
-Climate
The Feccna is found in drier climates, mainly deserts, but it are not limited to that habitat. Their coat makes them adaptable to most any region and their ears help to dispurse excess heat from the deserts. This fox will make it's home in a den in an underground den.
-Diet
Feccnas are Omnivores. They prefer the taste of meats whenever possible but will resort to berries and nuts after an unsuccessful hunt. Also included in their diet are insects and the eggs of other creatures. Any extra food gathered will be stored within the den. Because of it's desert dwelling nature, it can go without water for a very long time.
-Life Span
The Feccna live between 15-20 years. They will reproduce once a year during the late winter or early spring season. The litter will contain 1-7 offspring.
