Regarding the second one I unfortunately have no idea, as it's stock music and not composed by Patrik. I would of course have liked to have our own music and lyrics, but there simply wasn't enough time to get everything arranged.

Regarding the first I have some old quotes for you:

Is it the sparkling, canned dialog supplied by the NPC when you click on the little talk icon that makes it so interesting?

Well, seeing as the lyrics for the second one isn't our own, they are (unfortunately) not important - at least not lore-wise. I mean, it would be nice if it turned out they fit the theme for MO, but I wouldn't count on it.

The lyric for the trailer isn't my favorite. There is a lyric ingame, that starts when I get close to the rainbow forest ... that lyric is the greatest!

That's up to us more than likely. Like much else...

One of the words in the last line translates to 'dared', from a Spanish word. Hard to tell if it's intended since their languages are a mix of Greek, Latin, and other languages. Although generally not too hard to figure out. Amaruk Nuur translates into "Wolf Lake", Canteri comes up to something similar to "Chamberpot"... Morin Khur was something like "Horse Village", Moh-Ki has a possible counterpart of a real place named Mohi, it looks rather similar on the map and deals with Mongolians.. check "Battle of Mohi"... There are lots of references of RL locations and names floating about...

And of course the various translations we have in the Counter Thread from trying to translate things. Maybe sometime in the future we'll have ourselves a working cipher or sorts to figure this all out.

Although the system will be much better than before, yes, I guess some people will be angry and leave. Like people leave when they realize it's a full loot game. It's part of the design, and me saying it's a prioritized and important feature are not empty words.

From Latin Canteriolus, meaning a small trellis for supporting plants (historically the village giving name to the area was used for growing grapes for a monastery), and English Cant (oblique or slanting face, or having an inclined position, like that of the village and monastery) and Canter (the origin of the word comes from Canterbury, i.e. to ride at a pace like that of Canterbury pilgrims, a reference to the pilgrims of the monastery).

This is a quote from my explanation in an earlier thread:

That said, I don't just randomly google names an put them in. Most often these words or features are actually what starts the inspiration for the culture - not vice versa. They are there from the beginning as I know about them because of studies or hobbies, and often act as building-blocks when I start writing the lore. I then iterate the lore and "connect the dots", often by finding parallels between these building-blocks:

Morin Khur is named after the instrument Morin Khuur (also known as Morin Huur), but it is in fact also a word-play;

"Mor/in" can mean both "Horse" and "Powerful", like the Mor-Ikil or Mornur described in the lore.

"Khur/en" can mean both "Settlement/Village", "Circle" and "Fiddle", for instance a Khurite Ger village is known as a Khuren.

Thus, the name Morin Khur can be translated as "Horse-Fiddle", but a more appropriate translation would be "Power-Circle" or "Horse Village".

Very observant! It's actually a word-play of Hungarian Mohi (Muhi) which also happens to be an abbreviation for Mohikán (mohican), and the Sámi words Mohkki (creek) and Muotki (small watershed).

Heh, I know they aren't just randomly Googled names and tossed into the game. It's just generally when you take parts of the names and toss them into Google, the origins come out. Canteri was obviously quite a bit off since it had a closer counterpart that showed up. :P

I remembered a few of the things from earlier threads and that's why I just went with Horse Village for Morin Khur.

And on Moh-Ki, thanks! I'll eventually pick more info outta you for this stuff, lol. Bit by bit translating the world, hehe.
