I don't wish for anything in your post, like I said twice before, I was calling you out on your bullshit. "lets be honest" is a phrase used to inflate your own opinion, to make it seem as if it means more than it really does, and your entire OP follows that exact mentality, that's my reason for responding. Whether or not you feel I'm trying to derail this thread is about as meaningful as the thread itself(aka useless). It's funny that you expect me to add something valid to this worthless thread though edit: some of you need to stop with the crying and doomsday shit and offer up some constructive critisism the devs can actually take seriously. When your entire opinion is wraped in condescending BS, and sarcasm all you're doing is wasting words. You can completly chew out SV if you want, but at least be an adult about it, create a valid list of reasons with evidence and explain what the problem is. But if all you can do is say "MO FAILED, SV IS POO" you're wasting your time. Last edited by -TYRANT- : 30th August 2010 at 00:48. |

What I hate about Mortal are the whine threads from people like the OP for whom improvements can never come fast enough. |

What did I like?
The world's possibilities. What did I hate? The no-skill poke sticks. Disappointment? MO derailed.

This isn't completly true, they've implemented a lot of changes for the sake of reducing the effectivness of spamming weapons. Also the changes to mounted magic were due to a certain someone's suggestion...not saying who.

Or perhaps it was the mass amount of people complaining on the forums and suggesting fixes. No... no. It was me. Last edited by Electrum : 30th August 2010 at 08:14. |

First of all, anyone who comes on the forums and starts preaching the end of MO days is a crazy person. There are alot of signs a MMO is dying/dead, and when we start seeing absolutely no changes to the game at all being made (good or bad) then I'll give more credit to the doom & gloom crowd and thier pity parties.
Have you ever considered the fact that the age-group of whoever is the youngest kid playing to 25ish happens to be returning to school/college right now? Then the low server populations start to make sense. I agree that in my opinion SV has dropped the ball with some of the patches they've been putting out, and it kinda sucks that they havn't released any fixes for annoying bugs. But no game patch has ever been "perfect". They really need to buy another server just for testing new patches before they come out. So if you are pissed , go to another game. I'm sure they'll make mistakes and piss people off and eventually someone will start another " This game is dying!! " thread...

I loved this game, and had a...shaky... but existent belief in the company.
Now i hate the company. I'm sure some of you know the recent scandal. suffice to say that certain GM's no longer on the team have leaked some scandalous info. info that shows the game is dying, and henrik has to accept certain... styles... of gameplay despite their moral implications in order to keep the subs. i still love the game, and hope that should it stabilize and grow, this decision will change in the future and henrik's rules on the matter change. the bitter taste will remain however.

Hell, after reading this post am so disappointed am going to cancel all my 3 accounts damn!!!
not really. I haven't played a flawless and error free game since forever and MO is good enough to keep me playing it despite any flaw it has. PS: This game is going to die posts are really funny. |

These forums go through a doomsday-phase every couple months. There's always some random guy that "knows" something the rest of us don't, and their absolutly certain MO is weeks away from death, this has been going on since day 1 of combat beta island.
Being able to click quick for fast low damage attacks or charge them for full damage is a pretty big change compared to 100% damage all the time, as fast as you can make your weapon swing. So in this case I'd have to agree with your sarcastic comment. Last edited by -TYRANT- : 30th August 2010 at 13:19. |

It really is that simple, if people like you were correct, MO would of died out way before it was released. This thread is nothing special, there have been hundreds exactly like it, and there will be hundreds more, if you don't like MO, stop playing, move on. |

Yeah, like people are saying, i think there was some personal conflict and we got information we never should have seen. I think some people are over reacting.
I played eve for 2 years, and during that time I saw post after post of "the game is dying", and it didn't die. I played it. The people had some claims about the game being boring at points, but it never died. Now here, well SV will take care of it. Unless I see a huge drop in pop, no action, and my guild leaves, well, I'll still be paying one month at a time, which is no risk for me. They are doing well with patches and updates. It's only 15$ for me, and that's all I spend a month on games. Not a big chunk of my change. I'll pay for them to make it work well.

Pros:
The best sandbox out there Biggest dissapointment: The slow speed for fixing MAJOR issues. I hope: That the Devs can get this sandbox to be all we want. It takes time, but I realy hope they keep their vision and do it with professional skills |

Its really strange how ppl claim beta was better...i for one still remember the buggy hit detection where ur weapn would pass right through someone without damaging it, 2 hand sword made of cronite was the weapn 99percent of the players were using and blocking was as useless as its now...really guys go check the forum archive and read the topics we had back then.

I still love the game but I decided to not resub for a few months or until some big improvements happen. I think people who are getting burned out should do the same. Some people still do have plenty of fun right now. Combat was only like 25% of the game for me and I got bored of crafting/grinding. Once I got a house I didn't feel like I even needed to play anymore.
Hopefully they balance things, add new non-combat things and fix some of the things in-game now. I still check the forums and IRC everyday and looking for the time when I can come back and have loads of fun. Also I don't think mortal is "dead" or "finished." If we are honest, at its peak mortal had less of a population then pretty much any other big mmo. That was when there were less features and less stability then now. Once the game gets really going, I think more people, especially ones who don't even know of mortal yet will flock to it and everything will be awesome. Rainbows and shit awesome. Just have to wait for it... Soon(tm)

IŽd be a happy bunny if theyŽd make more weapons viable for pvp. And make mages actually skill based.

I agree with you on the combat changes/imbalance, OP, but I don't think it's "The end of MO" or anything so dramatic. The developers seem to generally listen to the population and so I think they'll make the needed changes in due time.

The poor programming allowing people to sit there and dupe out thousands of golds while the rest of us have to slave away to make anything... odds are to be ganked by the gold dupers who spent it getting their chars maxed and best gear early on, making sure you can never get anywhere if you aren't a cheater. Server wipe ftw.

We just released the game and starts to get the game stable before we start marketing the game, we want the core to be stable first before marketing the game. The updates from Epic Games is vital for this to work as we want, which we are working on now day and night. Thanks for the feedback so far, we are aware of what kind of issues we have at the moment and will solve them.
