Default Performance question

Would upgrading to the 64-bit of Windows 7 over my 32 bit version help my in-game performance? I can run the game on max settings with very little lag.. and I did for the first few hours. Since then I get Virtual Memory crashes whenever I turn the graphics up. (I tried the tweaks)

Honestley not sure if the bit upgrade would help u or not. Theoratically it should but does MO support it? donno. Upgrading my ram helped me out alot. This game has been plagued with memory leaks for awhile now. If u noticed ur fps dropping after a few hours of play just close client n restart, it should be back to normal fps n run smoothly again for awhile. Sometimes it'll go for the longest time without leaks other times it'll happen every hour or so. Personnaly i would just wait for better optimization n for em to fix the leaks instead of upgrading cuz the restarting method works fine for me. u shouldn't have even bothered with 32 bit version at all cuz the 64 bit comes with it too.

Yeah, I just wasn't paying attention and didn't feel like reinstalling. My FPS doesn't drop at all after playing I just get a virtual memory crash after about 2 minutes of ingame activity.

It runs perfect up till that point (on high settings) and then crashes abruptly. It's worth a shot at least.

Depends on the rest of your system really. How much RAM do you currently how now. Both memory and video card memory.

Upgrading to 64-bit will allow your PC to utilise all of it.

In general, then I'd say yes. I'm pretty sure Windows 32-bit has a 3 or 4 GB RAM limit. So if your video card is using 1 GB, then your PC can only use 2-3 GB.

i believe what he said about the 3 gb limit is true. Also heard a rumor that if u are using different rams you bio downclocks them to the slowest one. its what i've been told.

32 bit OS = 3.5 gig RAM max , no matter how much you have pluged.

Yeah, and I only have ~2.5gb phys ram available. I had no idea that was because of my video card.

So I should see a performance increase. Maybe it'll be enough to let me play on high again.

You should, yes. 64-bit gives your processor a little to work with too. But now you'll be able to utilise all of your memory before using virtual.
