bow crafting materials?

okey. so this is the deal. im just wondering what type of material to stick whit not asking for any recipes. want to point that out.
so you start out whit horn and wood lore when you create a bow crafter. sure i can understand that but what i am wondering is. is it worth using metals as belly when you craft bows? or will you end up whit an bow that will be impossible to fire that bow? asking this because i dont want to spend alot of skill point sin metals just to have to make a new char

last i checked it was all about horn/compact horn, creptite, and dense creptite
