A Story:
I sat here tonight at my computer just about ready to double click my MO icon...but I didn't. I just looked at it and went...bleh. No motivation; no reason to play. This has been a fairly bad weekend, in regards to moderation from SV. Players have been punished without being told why and yet we still sit here with constant crashes, unbalanced mechanics, and poor communication from SV. I mean really? Sure, now we have someone to reboot the server, but we still don't have 24/7 GM support. To say otherwise is an outright lie. Just look at IRC, or ask in game how long people have been stuck on the weekends at night. IF GM's are on, they continue to support their biased perspectives and unfairly punish anyone they want. Consider Kootenay's response in this thread. http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/5...-bullshit.html They punished players...then told one of their guildies that the rest of them got punished? In essence..."pass it on". I would use the B word (Ban) to describe some of the actions...but that would get this thread immediately locked. Hell, it will probably get immediately locked anyway. (Note: I was neither involved nor punished.) Sadly, the moderation from SV has taken a massive nose-dive. If you speak out against them, or discuss something they dont like. They remove the conversation. Essentially, they have become forum gestapo. I personally, think this not the way to "Win friends and Influence people"; in reality, they are telling the customers to deal with it. I checked out my guild vent recently as well. In general, some hardcore MO supporters all throughout beta. From closed beta to launch we have had a fairly strong showing until recently. After the vendor crash bug (which took a week to fix in a launched and pay for play game) most of them stopped logging on. Most are tired of the "Soon" promises. Like the awesome weapon stances....for spears....for the already over powered and over used spears. No other weapon yet. Or the magic balance...make mages in non-combat mode as fast as melee in combat mode. Oh, make the reagents cheaper too....Just as bad as the Open Beta naked brawlers now. Do you guys even understand what balance really means? What about the armor balance you guys implemented? Now everyone just wears lighter shit. We still all wear the SAME SHIT as each other. No variety, you have only changed our one viable option to something besides plate. Instead of running in plate, we run in scale. No alternate play styles, you just changed what everyone is using. Your lack of...well...everything has essentially driven most of the community away. Seriously SV; what the fuck are you doing to this game that so many of us love to support? You guys have been talking about this damn epic patch being the "Messiah Patch". It's going to turn water into wine, fix PvE, improve inventory...blah blah blah....I don't think anyone believes you anymore. You guys said months ago that you were going to balance combat....how did that turn out? How about magic? Ah, cant fix the rendering/load issues.....just make horses slower. Hrm...new patch crashed 95% of the user base when they talk to a vendor...give us a week to fix it. Really? That's a damn pathetic attempt to compensate for your lack of programming skill. Learn to test, learn to plan. Get out of the tactical bullshit and use some strategic thinking in running your company and planning your game. The server population is dying. The game mechanics are still broken. The in-game support is nearly non-existent during non-peak hours. Communication in regards to punishment is non-existent. This is what we call...a lack of fundamentals. Fix your fundamentals and take note. Most of us are looking for something else to play because we are tired of this bullshit you call management and support. Give us a reason to WANT to play this game and learn to test your patches before you launch them. |

Myrm Rage post or not I agree entirely. I to am finding that I sit down at my PC hover my mouse over the MO icon and then decide not to click on it. I will continue to sub just to see if the Jesus patch fails or not. If the game doesnt improve tenfold in the next 2 months Im gone

-13- agrees
how many are on the dev team? 24/7 gm's tho necessary, right now on whatever seemingly limited budget and time they have seems to be a tad bit impractical, hopefully they are working extra long shifts trying to fix the game and prepare it for this "EPIC" patch(got my fingers crossed). i dont think the pop will 4ever die-out, i think they will leave and play other games, but keep a close eye on the game, untill, if ever they get their shit strait. im here for the long haul, SV's got my support to the end. |

I can tell why I did that, it was because I was only approached by one of the members, there was about 20+ people that were banned for 1 hour. I asked for the names of the people so I could contact them, but the user I talked to didn't want to give me the names of the people that were involved. So I told him to pass it on to his other members. |

I agree each and every patch furthers the very low patience the community has left. While vendor crash patch is coming out of its slump, alot of the big problems im see'ing now are "bans and GM with motives!". Which is simply not effecting anyone not really doing nothing wrong.
Still the game is still holding my attention and only recently became more then whatever people claimed it once was. There has never been this much and constant war in this game. Sadly since my work schedule got bogged down a bit the past month, i havent been around enough to be overly annoyed (aside from a recent gamebreaking problem). Im enjoying some of the newest changes and additions. I think the archery overhaul was great and melee is weird ATM, but getting slowly more balanced. So far each patch hasnt been amazing, but its starting to add up. They need an amazing one soon though, nobody can really argue that. Epic mob, Tindrem, boats, something big and a good series of crippling bugs to fix.

wow.. i dont know what´s going on right now.
By reading this post, (that i totaly agree whit) and the post above makes me kinda frustrated. Quote:
A good thread that kootenay locks instantly.. And the worse part is that he says that he informed ONE of the players that got *B-word* and told him to pass it on, i mean what the fuck!? I did that kind of comunication when i was about 6y old and wanted to talk to the sweet girls and was to affraid to deal whit it. And they are grown men that cant deal whit it? or are they just so stupid that they dont inform the ppl that they *B-word* whit the reason to it? God... |

You banned them, how can you do that if you dont even know their names, accounts or something? When banning accounts you must be able to send a e-mail or something to the mail that is bount to that account? Telling someone to "pass it on" is so fucking stupid that i dont know if i shall laugh so hard at you till i die, or if i shall cry blood and then send you back to the 6y old grade of school and ask them to learn you about comunication... EDIT: when i keept reading i understod that it is not you who banned the players, but that meens that there is someone else that banned players whitout telling them why or giving them any reason. And then you have to fix that for someone else that is fucking stupid.. Sorry kootenay for accusing you. Last edited by Rasp : 6th September 2010 at 09:53. |

I cannot agree more with you Warchild. Excellent thread here. I was punished with a b-word of 72 hours, and I still have no fucking idea why because noone will tell me. I'm just told to submit a ticket on the support system, even though it was Friday after SV had gone home...
There goes my weekend playing a game I've rightfully paid for. There has got to be some kind of notification put in, because instantly punishing people without giving any reason isn't a way to teach players. Even worse is the fact that the players don't do anything wrong to begin with, which brings in the question that has already been brought up in this thread - Are there alternate plans for the HC's when it comes to punishment?

I've seen a hell of a lot of exploits used around the Kranesh area for at least a couple of weeks now, the screendragging is getting insane round there, not to mention glitch abuse near a certain keep.
Aren't they b***ing people for being around people who do this sort of thing? It seems their wanting to get players to police themselves a bit more, it being so risky to hang around someone whose doing such nefarious deeds? Could be wrong place, wrong time? Trev |

I agree with warchild, but questioning the mods is pretty stupid. Their actions are always understandable. The rules are easy to find, and every rule is perfectly reasonable. They follow the rules with no sign of being "corrupt".

@OP: SV has never called the Epic Patch 'Messiah Patch'. That were some forum users. Oh and personally, I don't mind most of the bugs, the problems are the exploits, the cheating (if there are some), the duping, and the lack of content (Tha'ts why I wait for fishing to play again)

That's what I like to see. I'm glad there's someone out there that can construct an intelligent post with some thought behind it and valid statements to support your claim. Even if it did come from a myrm (; /signed

Even as blind fanboy I can agree that most of the problems are not acceptable anymore. With every patch I hoped that this time SV get enough experience to not the same mistake.
