There have been a lot of small companies trying to make revolutionary sandbox pvp games. Dark and Light, Roma Victor, Mourning, Shadowbane and now Darkfall.
And they all have been failures. What makes you think this game will be any different? I don't think small companies have the resources to pull off a complete MMORPG. |

Something called faith comes into play for some people, others, well (points to OP) not so much.

Thats great, but that is the same road that DF went down.
If MO travels down the same path as the other games that the OP has listed, then there will be a huge cause for worry. So far there really isn't enough information to make any kind of prediction, but there also isn't the major warning flags that DF was displaying. When the time reaches zero hopefully lots of good new will flow our way. |

Ok.....done? Shouldn't have taken long. Now compare them to what's behind MO and see the pointlessness. |

Because no one can fail with the Unreal Engine 3?
Let me rephrase, if a decent company could get UE3, they could faceroll and make a good video game. The fact that MO Devs actually are trying with this superb engine, only adds to their chance of success. Not saying the Devs aren't doing all the work, but a carpenter can't make anything without decent tools.

Because we all know the only good games ever made have been backed by massive companies as big as blizzard.
I just started playing wow because I realy have nothing else to play. What kills me is everyone thinks that inless blizzard makes makes a game then its crap, and that every other game HAS to fail. I myself would normly not trust something as small as SV but these devs sell it. Never have I seen devs I feel really care what I want. There not backed by a publisher so they probly have there own money on the line (or if I read right at SV site Henriks dad).

They have as much a chance as anyone else so why not hope for the best? There are a number of amazing games that have been developed by smaller studios than this.
While I'm not sure about those other titles, when a new developer decides to go with a good premade engine and middleware it goes a long way to showing their maturity. Far too many small development studios are overly ambitious with their projects and want to make their dream games from scratch. Using good premade technologies relieves a huge burden from the development team and grants a lot more focus to the game itself. |

Personally, I think it has a great chance. Everything looks good, and the devs have been very involved and competent about everything thus far. Most of the games brought up had problems from the start and in some cases *coughD&Lcough* were outright scams.
Speaking of Shadowbane specifcally, because I actually followed that one for some time, it became apparent it wasn't going to do well for a while before it even released. Getting dropped by GOD Games was bad, but when they got picked up by Ubisoft, the development took a decisive turn toward being more "market friendly" which only made things worse. I believe it went under at least one complete redesign during development at some point as well. Basically, I think it's safe to hope for the best until Mortal starts swapping developers and blockading communications about the game. By no means are MMOs only for the big guys though. |

Dear OP, if you had taken some of your time to actually read about the game. Done your homework on whos creating the game and spent hours on reading swedish text with a dictionary on the little nifty pdf's, instead of posting that question. You could then see the radiance of this game that seeps out from the backlight of your screen , pulsating and mindbobbling combat that would leave the geeks screaming in pleasure.
-StJudas Meh anyway its a lock..
