higher blocking damage and less damage when attacking becouse the attacker's hit hit your sword which the sword trembles and might injure your hand, or his sword might hit your hand by accident, so implement this so people stop skipping gloves. you dont do max damage without gloves becouse you dont have a good grip.



Boots
If barefoot, you gain -5 hitpoints when sprinting each five seconds, or you can get a disease if you do it constantly which you gain statloss untill it wear off or cured by a priest for a gold coin.


it feels rly lame and looks lame to see people barefoot with no consequences. thats more as a cheat, seeing as noone hits gloves or feet

Gloves are part of your arm protection and boots are part of your lower body protection.

Try it...

Lower body hit someone with boots on and off.

yes you're right but i guess the difference is not that big if people still run around barefoot/hands...
i hated it even in UO (mostly for barefoot), i found it great instead that into Haven&Hearth you would get damage if barefoot

Temperature effects need to be in play first, Id say, before adding other negatives to having a lack of clothing / protection.

for boots, the disease thing would work well, more and more statloss if you continue to not wear shoes and the more the statloss the more you pay for it to be cured by a priest. but its like if you have been like an 20 minutes constantly without shoes, you gain a disease which can be cured by a priest for 50s o so, something like this might work. if SV adds foot rags, then ppl would just use footrags instead of bare foot.

When you don't wear boots, your lower body mitigation goes down severely, (maybe you should do tests before you make a "feedback" post), without arms...it does the same thing.


Also, if you know how to fight, you would aim for the weakspots in armor.

Right now, Gloves and boots are only important for protection, if you dont wear it and you get hit on that unprotected body part you get a lot of damage.

Later on, someone said it, they will be part of temperature as well, you wont feel to good if you run wihtout something on your feets when running in snow, or similar harsh enviroment. Or wearing plate directly on your skinn when walking the deserts

Sigh...

There are a lot of different downers on not wearing gloves and boots as it is.

1) Gloves stand for 25% of the mitigation on your arms.
2) Durability damage is split between the parts of armor.
This means if you get hit on your legs by a mace the damage done to the durability of your armor will be split in two. but if you wear only leggins it will all go to your leggings. Which means they will wear out faster, And in case of maces that means INCREDIBLY FAST. I mean make a steel flanged, wear a helmet and get bashed 15 times. Lets see if you still have that helmet.
