I agree completly. The only thing I have against the game is that you donīt feel like your piloting the ship. I was having high hopes for, I think it was called Jumpgate Evolution or something. It looked to be like a EVE with you actually piloting the ships. But I think that one got cancelled or something. But EVE still have many other things going for it.

Well...maybe we will live long enough for something like infinity to be actually reliesed?
But looking at the direction at which games and development is going, I'd say chances are rather slim |

I also tried Black Prophecy, and although the great feeling of controlling the ship, it lacked in every other compartment. The end game sucked, and it was just same type of missions over and over. Got bored really fast. But it could get good if they have 1-2 years more to work on content. I have a eye on Infinity as well, but it seems to progress so slowly.

And please note that the most important feature of EVE that MO is sorely missing is its market and the fostered player-driven economy.
Henrik, please, please, the sooner a good local market is put into the game, the sooner NPC vendors can be taken out of the game. Once that happens we finally will have a serious player-driven economy. Once we reach that point, challenging EVE won't be just a dream. |

Granted, managing trade of crafted items is harder, and might require a more advanced kind of market, in addition to evaluation skills to be able to judge the quality of the item before the purchase. But is there really some reason not to start? |

Most palyers leave MO after a few minutes "into" the game, which means struggling with a shitty UI and/or experiencing a shitty AI. (You wouldn't believe how many players can't figure out how to chop trees, because you drop the icon with the end of the mouse pointer, and not the icon it's self.)
Hunger and reserves, finding skills, figuring out how to make killed mobs useful, trading, getting money for things when selling stuff, consistence when it comes to right/left mouse buttons use, and many, many more need work, and to be intuitive. Spawns not working, animals not reacting, animals with strange hitboxes, animals that are half inside you, animals behaving like they have a seizure, but somehow still inflicting damage to players, animals standing on their heads, flying animals and underground (invisible) animals, and many more... I am used to everything from the list, but it's not hard to imagine this might scare away some (most) people. So if we want them to stay long enough to participate in any economy, we need to make sure the issues are all solved. |

I never said a proper tutorial would cause harm. In fact I have a little bit of hope SV knows they need it and will implement at least a basic one with the new GUI.
A man can dream right? *1st SPAWN* Code:
"Welcome to the world of Nave" Let's get you quickly started on your way. First double tap tab. This will make your life easier, since the cross-hair will stay up allowing for easier targeting. Just remember to never use it for aiming in combat! Instead of just hitting everything in the centre of the screen, we have a much more sophisticated system in place. Hopefully you'll stay long enough to get the grasp of it! Press TAB two times quickly in order to permanently enable the crosshair Code:
"Good job!- basic movement" Now use your mouse to look around. thanks to the crosshair you will be able to see the names of the nearby players and NPCs, as well as their flag status (more on this later). You can move by using WSAD keys. And don't worry about your speed. there are multiple skills as well as statistics that will increase your movement speed soon enough! Now try to find the gathering tutor NPC. He shouldn't be far (It's that pretty guy with a large backpack). To interact with him press R. Find the gathering tutor and press R while facing him to interact Code:
"So far so good- skills" MO incorporates a totally skill based system. That means that the classic "levels for experience points" system simulating the progression of a character is replaced with skills that can be learned and perfected by using. Once you obtain (learn) a skill, by performing it, you can master it, gradually increasing it's effectiveness, all the way to it's maximum (100). To learn how to chop wood choose the right dialogue option by clicking the left mouse button (LMB) on it . Click the Left mouse button (LMB) on the "How do I chop wood?" dialogue option to get the woodcutting skill Still, maybe the new GUI won't be such an obstacle and a tutorial won't be as needed as it is today. As far as I see it; Darkfall is trying to change their design in order to stay afloat. Mortal Online is clinging to their design to stay afloat. There has been a steady trend of Mortal Online slowly but surely building steam, and this progress hasn't stopped or slowed down. If I was Aventurine I would be worried.
