What I find most important in PvP war based game is realism and how far you can see.
In alot of games you can see a certain distance and then everyone disapears. If any of you have Played WWIIOnline you would know the difference of what I'm talking about. In WWIIOnline it is basicly a big flat map where you can see as long as you could in real life, You can see tanks and peope from miles away. I could sit at a bunker and actually lay there with my binoculours and see attacks 2 hours before they happen and watch 5 tanks come towards me while I tell my batalion their position. all while my guys set up 2 miles away to their left and strafe all their tanks dead 1 hour before they get to me My question is, is it possible to see long distances or is it going to be like Everquest 2 where every character is so detailed that everytime a character gets 10 steps ahead of you he disapears so that you can see the nose hairs on the next model comming into view. |

I agree and hope to see a realistic view distance, if that's possible with the detailed graphics. If anything, at least give us a slider so that people with not as good machines can turn down the view distance for a performance increase.
I'd imagine that the view distance should be decent because for example in UT3 you could see people on the other side of the map. It wouldn't make sense to suddenly have someone appear out of thin air in a FPS game, so perhaps this game will be the same. It is based on the same engine, so who knows... |
