Hand to hand combat weapons.
Brass Knuckles, Katars, reinforced fists, etc etc. I'm hoping the crafting system really lets you go nuts with weapons. Will really add to the games economy and diversity. |

Roman units used a throwing Javelin with an iron tip that was thrown, but not one in each hand. Spartan soldiers used the spears as thrusting spears to fight and used the sword as a back up. Do not believe it just because you read it on the internet.

I disagree with so many people here. Not at their choice of weapons but at their reasoning there should be loads of different kinds. I would like few which have unique charicteristics instead of a multitude of similar types (1 handed sword, axe, hammer all the same). They need to be different but balanced so people arent all running around using polarms *cough* other game *cough* which is pretty hard to do.
And there shoulnt be so many different types of say swords that crafters are overwelmed and can't keep track of it. |

Agree with Neli, flails of diffrent kinds. Both 2h larger ones, and the classical ones. Etc.

I would like to see spear and shield for foot combat. It is a very common weapon form throughout history: Zulu, Celt, Roman, Greek, etc. Shown very graphically in "300". Yet I have not seen it used in any MMO to date.

In situations where one combatant is so much larger than the other there is no other weapon you would realistically have a chance with, you need the length of the spear. Also whomever mentioned the blowgun, I think that's a cool idea that wouldn't be hard to implement and yet another type of ranged weapon to add some diversity. |

The main thing that i would love to see in this game would be Fist Weapons that are one graphically appealing and realistic, but more importantly useful and deadly. From what i have come across when playing other games is you find a AWESOME fist weapon and then turn around and find some other crappy weapon(sword or axe) and switch to it.

I'd like to see a small, portable, strap-to-your-back trebuchet. For lobbing small stones, holy hand grenades, rabbits, etc.

I admit, progressing in skill when first learning could be full of... mishaps. But think of a whole group of grand master back-trebuchetists hopping in unison at the right moment so as to gain the greatest distance from their projectiles then running forward while reloading.
In case you were wondering. No, I'm not serious. Mostly. But it would be fun to see.

lol, There was actually a staff-sling sort of thing. I do not know how successful it was, but there are some old paintings showing them. The sling was fitted at the end and the pole was to be used for momentum. I suspect it was not very accurate though, but who knows.

Watch out, it's a rat-flail! ![]() Give others the plague, and hit them in the face with a rat! On a more serious note, everything I want to see has been listed off here at some point. It would really be nice to see a diverse list of weaponry, always nice to have counters to every style of attack.

I hope I can pick up a severed arm and use it as a fleshy club.

I’d like to see a M&B style weapon selection including limited quantity ranged weapons.
I really want a realistic encumbrance for the game. If not, we’ll all be running around in full plate, swinging the biggest weapons, and shooting the largest bows. |

Pretty typical ones like sword, axe, mace/hammer. It would be interesting to see pole arms/spears, and other lengthy weapons for foot or mount.
The one item that I would love to see though as hard as it would be to implement, balance, and get to have function or use would be the lance. Possibly one of the most recognizable 'knight' weapons I can think of in a fabled story of a mounted warrior. The kind of weapon that used at first charge, or to carry a flag or colour at the end. Held up high like a flag when not charging. Discarded after the initial clash and much like how a knight may toss off his great helm to go in with a long sword after being dismounted. |

I'd like to see a weapon like the Half-Orc is holding in this concept art.
![]() I've only managed to find a couple of weapons it could be. A type of Naginata, which was a Japanese spear-type weapon with a short sword on the end instead of a spearhead. ![]() Or a Nagamaki. A Nagamaki is a Japanese sword which means "Long Wrapping." It is similar to a Naginata accept that the blade and haft were closer to the same length. The blade would be between 2 and 4 feet long, while the haft would be between 2 and 3 feet. Overall the weapon would be between 4 and 7 feet in length. |

Agreed - more Western weapons please...scimitars, falchions, bill-hooks, partisans (a really naff weapon!
Western Middle Ages has so much variety with weapons/fighting styles that its cool factor is somewhere between here and Mars |
