You don't need skinning if you do your butchery at a table (which you should for much greater yield). It's another primary and if you are using a table all it does is make you faster (correct me if I'm wrong!! ).

Sorry, skinning knife was what I meant. Skinning is only a secondary anyway, so if you are a butcher and you don't have it, umad!

Ahhh bugger it! This is why I should be using Lyllyth's character emulator!

So Skinning and Skinning Knife are both primaries, but if you only do your butchering at the workbench, you have no need of the skinning knife skill so you can save yourself 100 points.

So if i find ymself struggling in PvP i could lose skinning knife and get something else? if say i only used a butcher bench?

My main focus for butchering is making money, to fund the other stuff!

Yeah Featherz, there are three important parts to PvP. Character skills, gear, and player skill.

If you want to be great at PvP, you need to take every little thing that gives you a small advantage, cos added up they give you a great advantage over an average PvPer, and keep you on par with the good PvPers.
So you want all the combat related skills you can get to give you an edge. That means you are a dedicated combat character with no trade skills.
Then you need good skills, as a player too. For this you just practice. Go out there and fight a bunch and learn what works.
Then you get good gear too. Cos your set of gear is another of those bunches of little advantages.

Max the right skills, get lots of practice, then, if you still need an edge, get some great gear. Forget about making a butcher/PvPer.

Make a butcher with your second slot!!

Iv locked my skills for now, im making 1g every stack of wolfs which is all i want from butchering really, not bothered about scales or textiles, or even skinning at the moment, so i wont of used any more than about 250 points in butcher, having a play at the moment with skills and i think i can PvP with this build its only lacking endurance and active regen really.

Thamal's doesn't have either of the skinning skills and Lyllyth's shows both as primaries. Ah well, I'll get it eventually!!

Skinning 60 (which im probebly going to take to no skill as im not going to be skinning)

So thats 310 points in total.... if we take animal down to 70 and lose skinning!
