Hello, My fishing toon is Giz, I'm apart of Wessex, we operate out of Meduli, and I created a video of what I learned about fishing. I spend most of my time fishing in Mortal but I by no means claim to be an expert. If you have anything constructive to add, I'm open to suggestions, and I hope others that enjoy or want to learn fishing can take something from it. Its a bit all over the place tbh, maybe set yourself a script and keep it simple. Also a newb wont have bait. It will be a good video if you restructure it slightly.
Just use mushrooms until you get herbeus, then use the herbeus. As for being all over the place I agree, however I don't like to do things reading from from a script. And I spent a lot of time editing, so I don't know if I want to do all that over again. Not to mention the upload to Youtube takes forever, but I see where you're coming from.
Nice video for beginners, but some things are wrong. First, the type of rod does not affect the likelihood of the catch, only your skills, hook and bait matter. Some fish cannot be caught near the shore, so you need the veelan for it, but that's all. Second, the number of bait you use does not count. In your video you use 600... if your hook gets stuck and you lose it, you only lose 1 and the other 599 go into your inventory, cause they are not used at all. So you just need to carry 1 unit to fish I thought about telling you more, but you'll post it here and spoil all the fun. True fishermen never reveal their secrets! Good luck out there
I use 100 bait, If I loose the bait I loose it ALL, And to me rods do affect the catch, Maybe its different for each player I don't but this is what im getting when im fishing..
I respectfully disagree. If I use a simple rod for a certain length of time compared to the veelan(like in my video), I'm catching more fish with the veelan. As for the not being near the shore, I never said otherwise, and it's not being near the shore per say but the depth, which isn't obtainable until you can cast far away from the shore, that you can get the other fish. In regards to the bait amount I said that you only have to use 1. I use more because I feel it gets me better quantities. But the losing only 1 bait with a stack on the hook is just plain wrong, it all goes by by if you lose that bait. And if you post it then people will see it's by you, I'm not here to steal anyones thunder, just to get more people interested in fishing. It's going to be harder for SV to add more fishing content if there's not alot of people showing support for it.
You're right Neptimus. The "excess" going back into your inventory is not the bait, is the hooks. If you put three hooks, when you use the hook the excess go back to the inventory. Sorry for the confussion. With regards to posting more about the places to catch fish, the hooks and the bait, this is a long discussion I had with friends ingame... information is costly in this game and it's always an advantage, so I'm reluctant of telling anything to anyone for free. Against that is, of course, the fact that fishing is "crap" in MO so far, as you get nothing of value from fish: 1. When you butcher it, the only thing you get is fish meat. Only exceptions is laake that gives you leptoid scales 2. The most interesting fish (cause they are poisonous) are ventriosus and water scorpion, and one of them is bugged. If you butcher WS you get water lizard meat instead of water scorpion meat. 3. Selling fish to vendors you just get "peanuts" in exchange for the significant amount of time it takes you to get fish. I'd bet fishing is the less profitable thing to do ingame. As you, I just fish for the fun of it, so here is a tip for you: if you just want to catch laake (the most profitable catch, in relation to time spent), use a 10 hook at high depth. You'll get laake 90% of the time. Anywhere, except the shreeva cave in Toxai. Good luck PS If you want to talk ingame, you can find me normally in Toxai. Khleo
