Is Ashdod in Gaza? I just went and looked on the NY Times and CNN websites for any stories about fighting in Israel. All they have in the world section of the NY Times is some American who went apeshit and killed a fuckload of people in Afghanistan. They had nothing on you guys being attacked. On the CNN site they said you guys were bombing the shit out of Gaza but had nothing on y'all being hit.
I live in Ashkelon, Ashdod is abit farther away from Gaza, very close to my town. Here's a relevant map The current shitstorm started when Israel killed a terror activist on whom Israel had information that he was planning an attack. Hamas and other terror groups started firing rockets, and Israel took out many launch squads since then (like 30 of them including weapon stores). I really didn't want to bring a political discussion shit here just thought people would find the above interesting, as it qualifies
Was it you who asked me about Leslie a couple years back? The cross dressing homeless man who ran for mayor of Austin 3 times? Well he passed away a couple weeks ago. We had a big "Love For Leslie" parade in downtown and the Mayor has proclaimed March 8th, "Leslie Day" for now on in Austin. Here are some pictures of him.
Well here is a new reason. We are unveiling a large new Willie Nelson statue outside ACL on 2nd Street accross from City Hall on April 20th at 4:20 pm.
I live in El paso ,texas Only thing good in it is the sunset Otherwise their bunch of mexicans capron
This is for ZBlackmore. We had ROT this weekend. Ever wonder what 50,000+ bad ass bikes riding into a city looks like? Well here it is, but it is almost an hour long. lol.
I did not take it but the image shows where I work at daily. The bookstore is not there anymore it is a restaurant
@Bevo that's awesome. Is there a festival with parties/music shows or something or is it just lots of bikes riding through Austin? Is it a one day event? And how the fuck does one city handle 50000 bikes.
Thanks. For those of us who ride (I was thinking I remembered you got a bike last year?) it is a fucking blast!! It is a 4 day event. Thursday through Saturday. They all camp out at the Travis County Expo center which is the rodeo grounds near the edge of the city. It is pretty cool. Around 100,000 camp out, out there. Mostly in RVs and tents. There are tons of big concerts at the expo and we close off the streets downtown and put up stages at the intersections of the large streets to have some shows. The bikes ride in large groups from the rodeo grounds out into the Hill Country and then back in town to downtown all 3 nights. But the big parade of 50,000 is only on the Saturday night. If I remember right and you got a bike, have you done any large group rides yet? I vaguely remember how fucking mindblowingly beautiful the Israeli Countryside was. I can't imagine many places in the world more prefect for a large ride than where you live. And I know you Jews fucking love your bikes, so I bet there are some bad ass group rides. Especially in the Spring. Here is some video of the parade from start at the Expo to downtown to give you an idea of the ride: The third video about the 3-4 mins mark is where they enter the city but it is much better to take the time to see the whole ride. The first two videos of the ride is through Austin's more industrial and poor part of town in East Austin, but still fun and the people really come out and enjoy the bikes. *Turn the sound up all the way! lol. The video doesn't do how FUCKING loud it is justice.* Here are some images from the the rodeo grounds where everyone camps. In the first one you can see how far the rodeo grounds is from downtown 8 miles awayway. The rodeo grounds is on the east side of Austin just outside the city. It is a 8 mile ride from the rodeo grounds to downtown. And the Hill Country starts just east of downtown and extends west for a couple houndred miles accross Central Texas. So downtown is usually the start and finish point for the big rides out in to the Hill Country.
Looks great. I guess this is an annual thing so I should start planning on getting my ass to this thing next year? And will this Jew survive this big bunch of rednecks Did you take your Harley btw? Yeah I did get a bike last summer, and in September when I'm legally able I'm going to get the unlimited license which I can only get after a year of the regular one (250cc), than I should get a bigger bike than my Hyosung.. (This song comes to my head again lol).. Didn't get a chance to ride in groups yet. Didn't invest enough time in finding one but those that I did find there's no way I can join, my friend goes to one of those, they ride the Sodom - Arad road (fucking beautiful) on speeds that are almost twice the maximum that my bike can do. I thin we've discussed crazy Israeli drivers already, it applies to bikes as well, the typical biker here is lane splitting on highways on 200kph, or riding dirt bikes at the dunes. We do have an annual trip with riders from all over Israel to Masseda which I will probably attend next year. But nothing too impressive. Here you can see them raping a gas station.
This one from this summer isn't from my city (it's from Tel Aviv I think, which is 5 minutes ago from Herzelia where I live now) but I'm sure you'll all forgive me
Hawt! Definitely forgiven. For sure! And bring your whole band of Jews to do a few shows while in town. And don't worry about fitting in with the bikers. There are a lot of Jews among those bikers. In fact from what little I know of you from this forums you would fit in with those bikers even better than I do. lol. Ya, we went and I took the family. My daughter and I rode my Road King while my fiance rode her Vespa. My fiance fucking loves her little scooter, but she and it looked quite silly around all our big ass bikes. Once we got downtown she went topless and let her gals out so no one seemed to mind her scooter. lol. I didn't know about that license law y'all had. Not a bad law. To require you to ride something under 250 for a year. You have any idea on what you might get after upgrading the license? You planning on going cruiser or crotch rocket? Looks to me like the crotch rockets are a lot more popular there from that video? When I was a kid going to UCLA out in Cali we used to take dirt bikes out to the desert and ride the dunes. We put on special tires that have these scoops for the sand on them. We called them paddle tires or something. Fucking awesome! That was where I really first learned to ride. It is fucking wild out there. From late fall to spring something like 100,000 people would go out there every weekend and party. And there are some big weekends with music fest where it would be well over 250,000 people out there camping in the dunes riding. I'm sure you can imagine all the wild shit that went on. It is fucking crazy out there. lol. Edit: Here is the paddle tires we used for the dunes...
The dirt bike party thing sounds as good as a the bike rally. Shit what the fuck am I still doing here? I'll probably sell my bike soon and get a car because the heat is going to get unbearable pretty soon, it's my only vehicle currently and with the jacket and all riding it every day to work would be hell. It's not very comfortable one as your main transportation unfortunately. After I'll upgrade the license I'll probably take a loan and get a cruiser, probably a Harley or something. A sport kind of bike (crotch rocket) looks appealing but I know that if I get one I'll go 180kmp all the time and I love my parents too much for that shit.
