Well, in case you missed it - tonight was the series finale of Eureka. It has ended now with a total of 77 episodes over 5 seasons. It was a good show and it had a great ending.

To all the cast of Eureka: You will be missed!

well I guess someone who names himself "born to puke" cant exactly be expectet to say anything positive about something.

But right now I am pretty much sharing his opinion.

Eureka was just another form of Teletubby Media aiming to destroy any left braincells people in the Industrial States might have left.

I watched the first season and then lost interest, but it did have a good run. 5 seasons is good for any TV series

Huh 5 seasons for that horrible show is more than enough, what about shows like Terra Nova that only get 1 season or Stargate universe with only 2 seasons????

Pretty ok show, not the best but works great as a hangover show.

Terra Nova? Wasn't it very bad?
  8. Artorius Honored Member

Huh, it has epic dinosaurs and the epic general from Avatar!
  9. Gilder Senior Member

I dont know about Terra Nova as I never watched it.

    But well
    that doesnt really matter

You should always keep in mind

90% of the People think theyre something Special and highly Intelligent
They think nobody else can Think as far and as good as they Can do and they cant possibly imagine someone to be Superior to them.
9% of the People Acceptet the Fact that theyre simply a small part of Humanity and they´re just as stupid or as Intelligent as other People as well.
And only 1 friggin % is actually soo goddamn Stupid that they try to gain Knowledge and Abilitys beyond that of other People to archieve something importand in this World.

So 90% of the People will mainly Prefer a Stupid and Boring Series which does Simple things like Killing masses of People with lots of Special Effects and Cool Statements because they understand this
Only very few will Like a Series which they have trouble understanding.
The moment they dont understand they will deny any possible sense it might have because it is unfathomable for them that something that makes sense would not be within their understanding.
Thus they will stop watching it and forget it.

9% may try watching it despite not understanding it because they can gasp the idea that some things are beyond their mind
and will those watch it trying to look for the things which they can use for them

and the last remaining % might actually try to find out what is meant and how something can be understood :)

So you can count on this
An Mystery Show which does not Reveal its Mysteries at the End wont be watched.
And in Modern World any Series which trys to tell a Story without explaining it anew in each episode and without linking the single parts together so obviosly that anyone could understand it even if he bypassed half of the Episodes
    wont survive for long :)

Stargate Universe was one of those Series

Without Knowledge of the Prequels and without having watched it in the right order and having covered at least majority of the Episodes
Most people were Unable to Understand the Plot
    Thus they didnt watch it

    Greetz :p

That is an interesting explanation but it might be too complicated for me to understand :p

I definitely agree with you about SG: U, but Terra Nova was imo rather bad. Then again, I've never watched Eureka, so I don't know how it compares with that.

Its a teen show. It has some simple humour and some common place sci-fi, so cliché anyone can figure out the plot in the first 5 mins of each episode.
What really makes it horrible is that it kills cute little baby kittens. And by that I mean it gets 5 uninspired seasons while shows with some actual value get canceled.
  13. Gilder Senior Member

    Well you said it yourself
Its easy to understand everything within 5 minutes
no wonder it got 5 Seasons Running
Problem is after 5 Seasons they most likely made the mistake and added too much stuff so people needed 10 minutes to understand it and thus dropped it .....

    OMG!!!

We agree on something, I also thought Terra Nova was lacking in something and I am not surprised it didn't make it to another season

I really liked the show, but I sort of dropped it after the airing schedule became irregular.

We also agreed that Justified is good a while back. :p

    That is true :)

well, I think the differences between Eureka and SG-U, which afaik both ran on Syfy (yuk) was budget. SG-U having a bigger budget, thus needing a bigger audience to succeed, compared to a relatively cheap show like Eureka.

    or maybe it was time-slots...

or maybe it was just that not enough people watched sg-u..

since at the end its all about ratings and profits due to ratings...

I'm surprised that community is getting another half season... for an interesting show with bad ratings on a mayor network..they sure give that a lot of credit. :)

On the otherhand, breaking bad just started up again, and i nerdgasmed all over the first episode... >.>
