The Awakening is the second complete expansion to be released in less than two years since Mortal Online's release. The Awakening will mould Nave into a living world, expand sandbox functionality, improve the in-game economy, bring great new adventures and ultimately improve the game experience on almost every level.

We're excited to bring you this incredible update, the details of which are outlined below. This page will be updated several times before the release of The Awakening in order to bring you even more information.

Tindrem Opens its Doors

One of the most widely anticipated features since the release of Mortal Online, the Tindremic capital city of Tindrem and home of the Emperor, is now open to the citizens of Nave. Tindrem is composed of several districts, each ruled by a Consul, expanding from its center where the majestic fortress Arx Primoris resides.

While Tindrem appears as a vast and mostly orderly city, there is more than meets the eye on the surface.

"On top of the windswept pillars in Vica Levita the Clerus Magika is situated, one of the largest magic academies in the world."

New Artificial Intelligence

Nave comes alive with an all-new artificial intelligence system making the decisions for all NPCs and creatures throughout Myrland. Creatures are both smarter and stronger, bringing an entirely new level of challenge to adventurers.

Mortal Online's new AI is one that is sure to surprise you, with incredible features never yet seen in an MMORPG.

New User Interface

The entire graphical user interface for Mortal Online has been recreated from scratch using Scaleform technology. Gone are the days of inconsistency and awkward management; The Awakening brings Mortal Online's user interface to a AAA level, offering smooth and intuitive functions.

The introduction of this system not only means every bulky part of the existing UI will be replaced with a more advanced interface, but also allows more systems which will be live in The Awakening, such as:

  • Storage Containers and Bags
When space is becoming an issue, you can now organize items within bags of varying sizes.
  • Player-Written Books and Notes
Create your own literary masterpieces using ink and paper. Write simple notes or entire books to sell or trade with other players. This system is designed to tie in with Dawn's mail features to allow you to send real, tangible messages to other players.
  • Noteboards
Attach your notes to a noteboard, often found within cities and towns. Leave messages for other players to offer work, find resources and countless other uses.
  • Lockpicking
Sometimes desire is greater than patience; use lockpicking (mini-game), where both character and player skill come into play, to open locks without a key.

Dungeons and Creatures

The only thing that could make advanced artificial intelligence more fun is our exciting new locations and creatures on which to test your abilities. Explore the depths of Nave's most foul domains and uncover bountiful treasures never seen before. Prepare yourself for the challenges to come.

Clothing and Armor Dyeing

Player customization expands to a new level with dyeable clothing and armors. Wear your guild battle colors with pride or simply dress to impress. Players can mix dyes manually to create thousands of possible colors. Different dyes are available for different materials such as cloth and leather.

Item Identification

Your lore skills will now become effective outside gathering and crafting. Player skills determine the amount of information, and the accuracy of that information, shown on tooltips for almost all items in Mortal Online. Some possible examples include the sharpness of your blade, the materials used in a piece of armor, and more. Note that the values shown will not be numeric.

Trade Brokers

Trade Brokers are a new type of NPC found in many major cities and towns. This new NPC allows the sale of items to other players at fixed prices set by the seller. Trade brokers are in business for themselves, though, and a substantial tax is forced upon sold goods. This taxed income is provided to the town's controlling guild.

Trade brokers are sure to increase accessibility to equipment for those in need as well as profitability for experienced crafters. All items sold via a trade broker are only available locally; items available on one trade broker are not available at other locations in order to foster local economy and trade.

Furthermore, the trade broker interface also lists items for sale via player house vendors where sales are not taxed. House vendors will also now allow a much larger listing of goods.

And more...

The Awakening is even more feature-packed than listed above. Check back frequently for new announcements and additions prior to the release of Mortal Online's second expansion.
